Waltham Allotments formerly the Gravel Pits are situated on the corner of the High Street/Ings Lane.

Records are held of rent received from 1945 when the rent was four shillings – 20pence.

The average size of the plots is 1.08 metres.

The number of plots on the site is 55. These are all workable and the number of plots occupied is 55.

The condition of the site is excellent with a low level of vandalism.

There is no Allotments Holders Association.

All allotments are entered in the Waltham Parish Councils “Best Kept Allotments Competition.”

The rental charge per plot is £7.50. This includes water; there are no concessionary rates.

The rent is due on or before Easter Monday in each year and if it is not paid by then the Council reserve the right to re-let the allotment to another tenant without further notice.

Allotments are let to Waltham residents only.

Any resident wishing to rent an allotment should contact the Clerk at the Parish Office.

Currently there are 25 residents on the waiting list.
